Did Wawa change their coffee?

I guess this post is for locals only. Locals being defined as residents of the Mid-Atlantic states.

It's for locals who drink coffee. Non-coffee drinkers would have no clue.

It's for locals who drink coffee and frequently drink Wawa coffee. Frequent meaning more than once a week.

Now that I have all that established ...

... is it just me or has Wawa changed their roast?

I used to love Wawa coffee, the operative words here being used to. Lately, it tastes a bit off. I can't figure out the difference. I mean, it doesn't taste like "Wawa coffee" anymore.

And it seems odd the purported change in flavor is coinciding with their "Get Caught with the New Cup" contest. Did Wawa change their roast, not tell us, and did the cup promo so we would still drink it anyway?

Has anyone else noticed the difference, or am I losing my mind?

I've never heard of Wawa coffee before, being probably because I'm in Canada and our choice brew is Second Cup (if you are a fan of tea) or Tim Hortons (if u have any sense) or StarBucks (if you are a yuppie).

What's the change then? There has been times I've sensed messing with my favourite merchandise (namely Chef Boyardee - it takes like shite now) and I know the pain it causes. Now to mess with my coffee? That's asking for trouble.

Any how, I've heard tell (and I'm not positive but it makes sense)that the water quality can be all the difference to your morning cuppa, and if they changed their filters/purifiers, that alone could make a maassive difference in their taste/quality regardless of the formula of their beans...just a thought...I've been told by a purifier salesman thats the reason my home brewer I bought from Tim Hortons didn't taste the same at all, even though I even purchased thier coffee exclusively...not the same at all sadly.

It's changed. Saving costs by using less natural gas for the roast I'll bet.

Yeah, they did -- it's a more Starbucks-y, over-roasted taste.

"Cup-o-ass," I call it.

Yep. It's God awful now. I've stopped drinking it.

Maybe they're trying to compete with McDonald's and their new coffee. Haven't had a cup from Wawa lately, but I'll have to check it out. I'll give you the South Jersey view on it. I'm a fan of the Dark Roast, myself.

A few years back, Breyer's ice cream changed for the worse, sadly. They were bought by the Good Humor corporation. They introduced lots of flavors that are NOT all natural (Breyer's claim to fame), and they even tweaked (maliciously) the ingredients in the all natural stuff, too. I prefer the Turkey Hill Philadelphia Style now.

Until the change, Breyer's Vanilla and Breyer's Vanilla Fudge Twirl were my all time favorite desserts.

Didn't these manufaturers learn anything from the New Coke debacle???

I thought it was just me... it tastes like it's been sitting in the pot too long or something. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I don't like it!!

No I have never heard of Wawa coffee either.

Once you drink enough of it do you have a Wewe?

I drink Wawa coffee three times a week. I prefer Hazelnut. Haven't noticed a change in flavor, only the cup. So it must be just you :)
