Missing Person Mondays

I got this idea from Pax's blog who got the idea from Taz and Piggy's blog. The boys are designating every first Monday of the month Missing Person Monday. On that day, they will post information on a missing person's case. This is in response to the LaToyia Figueroa case here in Philly.

Personally, I am designating every Monday as Missing Person Monday. I already did my first post this past Monday on Tamika Huston, a case from Spartanburg SC. Whenever there is a bank holiday on Monday, I'll try to post; however, more than likely, the post will go on the following business day.

If anyone has any ideas or know of a cold case that needs some fresh attention, let me know either through the comments section or e-mail me.

And if you have a blog, or if you are considering starting a blog, think about designating your first Monday of the month to a missing person.

As the boys from across the pond said, "It only takes a minute or two of our time. But it could, just could, save someones life or, at the very least, bring some respite to a desperate family."

Head on over to Piggy's and see the nasty comment they got for their effort on Monday. Personally, it just makes me that much more determined.
If you are looking for people to highlight - try the Doe Network - be warned though there are ALOT. More than I ever imagined. There is also the Missing Persons Network = just google either name and you'll get the sites= those two sites and the websites of the police around here is where I'm going to find the people to highlight.

I left a rather polite comment for the trog. He isn't worth my time. I have better things to do like wash my car in the rain, change my new guitar strings,
mow the yard just the same as I did yesterday, etc (thank you Terri Clark)

I can't tell you how pleased we are that other people have taken this idea onboard.

The comments from people like Bill over at our place only make me more determined.

I must confess to being astonished, as lost says, just how many missing people there are out there - And rather sad that no mention is given to the vast majority of them in the media, who appear pre-occupied with what the Hollywood set are up to.

P&T - Missing remain just that - missing. Missing in family, missing in life, and missing in media.

I never count on the mass media for much. It's just like Hollywood - carefully scripted and primmed for the highest ratings possible. And if your story won't get the ratings, they could give a rat's ass less about you.

Will we be able to show every missing person out there? Hell no! That doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
