My daughter, the hypochondriac

No lie.

Every blessed day since last Thursday, my daughter has been begging to see the doctor for a "check-up".

I ask her if she doesn't feel well.

"Yes."

I ask what hurts.

She points to various parts of her little body. On the side of consistency, she points to her head, ear, and nose all the time. It's very possible. She has been sick everyday since March1st. Stupid allergy season.

I tell her if she goes to the doctor, she can't go to school. She then smiles and says she'll "stay for home".

Ah! I get it now.

The little skiver. They learn so young.

Sounds like mommy and daugther are both skivers! ;)

Heh. The Bean pulled that yesterday. "I need more of that bubblegum medicine and a nap -- I'm too sick to clean up my toys!"

Jadette just throws herself on the floor and does the signs for "all done school." What a joy. Her current obsession is bathrooms. No matter where we are, she says she needs to go potty. She doesn't really have to, she just wants to check out the bathroom. And if Mr. Jaded is with us, she'll ask me to take her, then she asks him so she can see both. Sheesh.

HAH! My daugter does the same thing when my son gets sick. She demands to get HER medicine and be allowed to go see the doctor. I wouldn't mind outside of the friggen co-pay.

Spike - I don't SKIVE! I prefer the term "slack", thank you.

CP - Oh, Dink's loves her bubblegum, banana, and "milk" medicine. What ever happened to the crappy tasting meds we had as a kid? Dammit, I WANT that medicine!

Mr. Fab - She is big time. And she knows I'm a huge pushover. She just taps and I fall.

Joe - Someone told me it gets worse as they get older. Oh joy. The things I get to look forward to.

Jade - bathroom obsession. That sounds like fun. Dinks usually goes in with me but occasionally asks for Geo. I can't wait for Dink's to ask why there are "sinks with bullseyes" in the boy's room and not the girl's.

Snicks - And that's why I'm not sending her to NY for holiday this summer.

Fran - She cries to go to school and cries that she's bored at home. i can't win with this kid!

MDM - Don't you love spending a co-pay just to have someone with ten years of schooling tell you your child has a virus? "Really? Thanks, genius!"
